Windsor Visitor Guide
The historic market town of Windsor on the banks of the River Thames is crowned by the grand Windsor Castle. It is the oldest inhabited castle in the world and an official Royal residence. The Changing the Guard Ceremony is a highlight for many visitors, as is a tour of St George’s Chapel, the burial place of monarchs including Henry VIII.
Windsor Castle can also be seen from the water. Windsor is the starting point for many boat trips along the River Thames, which pass the castle as well as the prestigious Eton College and renowned Windsor Racecourse.
The town is also home to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, a popular family theme park packed with fun rides and live shows. More peaceful locations in Windsor include The Savill Garden, beautiful interconnected gardens and woodland which offer something different every season, and Windsor Great Park, perfect for walks and picnics.
