Canal Boat Holiday Base Information - Base 20
Llangollen Canal, Montgomery Canal and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
Base 20 boasts a superb setting in the beautiful Vale of Llangollen, only a stone's throw from the majestic Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which carried the canal high above the River Dee. It's an absolute 'must see' for anyone in the area.
Traveling West, Llangollen is just 2 hours away and extends a warm welcome to everyone. It is a town of international reputation and charm, offering any attractions, including a steam railway. The beautiful Llangollen Canal gives access to the pretty villages of Wrenbury and Marbury and Grindley Brook's six locks and local stores.
Westwards from Trevor, enjoy the beauty of the Welsh countryside before crossing the border into England (halfway across the Chirk Aqueduct), and on towards Ellesmere, a small market town dating back to Anglo Saxon times, with its mystical mini lakes and abundant wildlife and wildfowl.
Going along the Llangollen Canal and south takes you through wonderful scenery and much rarely seen and unusual wildlife.
